TEDx is returning to Wenatchee and eqpd is proud to be partnered with such a progressive and thoughtful organization. This years event, titled ShiftED, is all about the current educational landscape. The world isn’t what it used to be. Is our approach to education meeting the needs of a diverse student body and keeping pace with a dynamic employment landscape? Jonathan Baker,
eqpd's founder, will give his talk on "Keeping Art in Education" as for the past 2 decades, art education classes have been, and continue to be removed from public schools. In fact, at the end of 2017, 2/3 of our schoolchildren in the Western US did not have ART and Music classes.
If you're interested in the future of our creative economy, I encourage you to join us Feb 20 at Wenatchee Valley College or at TEDx live
to stream the event.
You can show your support of TEDx Wenatchee and art education with a WA made, lifetime guaranteed LastBag. Available for a limited time, our 17" Shoulder LastBag is a real example of an education filled with art that has resulted in a 10 person small business in rural Twisp, WA. We use art and design to help solve environmental problems (single-use bags) and create local jobs. Your Built-for-a-Purpose LastBag donates half the purchase price, $25, back to TEDx Wenatchee to help fund future events. Thanks for your support!
